Another Yellowstone Death

Another tragic death in Yellowstone NP. A young girl fell to her death on a trail to the Brink of the Lower Falls.

Young girl dies after fall in Yellowstone park

I feel so sad for the family of this young girl.

That is indeed a sad ending to a young life. May she RIP.

So sad! I can't imagine what the family must be going through. Our prayers are with them.

Sad yes, but points out how attentive parents have to be. While our National Parks are beautiful, there are lots of dangers present.

It also makes one wonder about the level of parenting since there are warnings to stay on the trail and the report says that she was off trail at the time. It is always sad to loose someone so very young. I so frequently see children allowed to do things that put them at needless risk due to lack or proper guidance, or sometimes in spite of it. Time will only tell just what actually happened, but nothing will bring her back.

The identity of the girl was released and it was an 8 year old from Poway, California. I can't imagine the grief this family is going through.

I don't care how attentive a parent is, it only takes a split second for something to happen. Kids are fast.
