Newbie going full time and the wife wants to take some of the decorative pieces from the house and put them on counter surfaces. So what do you use for vases or figurines to keep them in place and can be removed easily.

Museum putty or Quake Hold. They keep everything in place and can easily be removed.

2nd on putty. Adhesive putty can be found in hardware, craft and office supply stores. Heavy objects will still succumb to g forces. Also use 3m Command strips for mouning without drilling holes.

We do not leave any loose items out including the coffee maker and our pictures, etc. We have storage places for everything. If we are sitting for a while the decorative stuff comes out. The essentials like the coffee maker come out at every stop. When in travel mode (several days of travel) we keep decorative stuff stowed. We have a 5th wheel so I can only speak to what we do. Not sure how motor home owners handle stuff being out.

That's the way we do things too. I was a little unnerved when this topic was discussed here close to 10 years ago. One person said they travel (MH) with the knife block sitting on the counter_

Kinda like tempting the gods or something IMO.

Costco and sams have piles of boxes instead of bags.

Often the boxes have built in dividers for display etc.

These can make great "totes" as often they can fold up or stack.

You find ones that hold items like old school 6 pack cartons and place them on the floor or under table while traveling.

Oh My! Common sense must prevail. The putty is only for tiny things. We use it to hold the soap dispenser on the counter in the bath for hand washing and several small teak-wood boxes on counters and shelves for pocket collections, etc. Lightweight things that are always out and in use. Coffee makers, etc. should be securely stowed as should anything breakable like glass or heavy enough to hurt a toe if it falls on it.

I totally agree that safety is a major factor when using museum putty. We currently only use it in the bathroom and galley to secure two light weight planters containing artificial plants.

I found this stuff at hobby lobby. Its called dots. It comes on a roll and it is literally dots of clear gel that you peel off a paper backing. Its like that stuff they use to hold your new credit card to the letter when they send you a new one. I call them booger dots LOL. I have held everything from picture frames to vases down with the stuff. Three little tiny dots, one on each leg of a vase and the thing has not moved in over 25000 miles of travel and it sits on a bedroom counter directly above the rear axle! Hard braking, bumps, potholes, you name it, the stuff has not moved. I dont even think twice about it. I believe I bought it at hobby lobby. It comes in a yellow box.
