Ants.....!!!
With all the rain we're gotten the last few days, ants 🐜 have entered our MH.
While we're not infested, and with the dryer weather, they are moving on...
This got me thinking, what is the best way to treat my camper for pests? I treat my S&B professionally, but it has significantly greater square footage...
What do full timers do? Especially in smaller units? I'm in a 28 foot class C.

Spray tires, sewer and water hoses, and shore power cable where they touch ground. May take a couple applications. I don't spray the coach itself to avoid paint damage etc.

I highly recommend this product for ants. We had the little tiny ants you can hardly see. I tried sprays to no avail.
Just a few drops of this stuff in strategic locations (where they are commonly seen) and they were gone in no time.

We us Ortho Home Defense Spray. Just spray it around jacks, tires, hoses, anything that touches the ground from your rig.

When we bought our 10 year old coach last year, it came with a colony of little tiny red ants. They came out anytime they had access to food (usually in the garbage can).
I bug bombed the coach and haven't seen an ant since. (Make sure you get the stuff that is marked for the type of ants you are battling).

I live in Florida-land of flying big cockroaches and ants. I swear by Home Defense by Ortho. Application is good for a year. And it does work. Being cockroaches -big ones can actually slide in between sliding doors or windows, I would know. I just got my first TT and did an application under the whole thing. Next I'll go spray the walls inside the cabinets and along floorboards. If a bug walks over it they die within 10 minutes. It dries and it's pet safe. I feel like I have armor protecting me.

Question for those using ortho home defense...if you spray your hoses, are you not concerned about getting the pesticide on/in your fresh water hose once your hose is coiled and stored?

X3 on Terro, we've had great success with this product.
Bug Bombs: Make SURE that there are no pilot lights lit (like in the fridge, or oven) or you're coach will be "sold" to the insurance company by the acre!
Spraying tires. Not sure that the petroleum based solvents in the bug spray are the best thing for your tires . . . .

same as boric acid for the most part. a little boric acid or borax spread about in the basement or in behind the crevices and other gaps will also help keep ants and roaches dead. it is pretty much harmless to humans but used right it is fine when used properly........do not go eating spoonfulls of it and you and fido and felix will be fine but roaches and ants will be dead..........

Haven't found a way yet to completely keep them out, but once in the RV, if you are worried about poison, we have had great success with grits. That's right, grits, sprinkle some around right out of the box (uncooked) they love it. As soon as they have a little sip of water the grits expand & no more ants. We also have used this method outside in the veg. garden where we didn't want to use poison. Works like a charm.

Failed to follow-up post. Used the inexpensive "pucks ", like an 8 pack from Walgreens... worked fine...
