USAF 1982-2002. Retired navigator (bad eyes). Need a GPS now for everything related to navigation. CFI and CFII as well.
My favorite website, besides this one, U.S. Military Campgrounds and RV Parks - Home

Dave, I spent a couple of years as a Nav, before I squinted hard enough to pass the eye exam. I squeaked by due to the needs of the Air Force.
1968-1988,,, 20 years 1 month and 12 days, but who's countin'?

Believe me I tried to get into Pilot training. I got to my first assignment and was working at the aero club as a single engine instructor. The Wing CC got wind that he had a Nav with my credentials and got me a waiver for my 20/30 eyes, but MPC would not double waiver my age at the time. Just wasn't meant to be. Glad you made it!!!!

I am the one on the internet all the time, but DH is retired USAF MSgt, 1968 - 1990. He is a Vietnam vet and I lose track of all the places he's been. Stateside he was stationed at both Mather and McClellan, Davis Monthan and Luke and did 2 tours (vacations!) at Torrejon AFB in Spain. We have been married since he re-enlisted following 9 years, we met while he was stationed at DMAFB and I got to go on one of those vacations with him. From Spain we went to PHX and ultimately back home to Tucson. He went back to work doing aircraft maintenance on US Customs surveillance aircraft and has since retired for real. I have just retired and we are ready to head out as soon as we can!
