Thanks Guys, Good Info.
It looks like Costco & Wallmart are about the same price for Delo.

Regards,

Dan

There is no best oil. Your engine doesn't know or care what brand of oil you're putting in so long as it's rated for your engine.

I use Rotella T6 synthetic oil 5W-40, because of the wide temperature range I am exposed to. My Ford manual says 10W-30 for normal use, but 15W-40 or 5W-40 if using the bio-diesel junk. Since I never know when bio might go in my tank, and considering the temperatures, 5W-40 it is.

I just changed at Speedco, A long time mechanic recommend Mobil Delvac 15w-40. My first oil change in this rig. I have two lab test from Blackstone labs, so I have a good base line. Will do another lab test in a few months to see what it reveals.

While my 2012 Ram 3500 DRW 5th wheel hauler is not as big as some of your MH engines, the 6.7 Cummins in there gets regularly scheduled oil changes using dealer recommended Rotella synthetic. Been using synthetic since the truck was new and have no plans to change.

I use Delo 400 LE 15-40 in my Cummins ISL. I also do oil analysis to keep track of things.

While someone said there's no best oil, they are certainly oils you may want to stay away from. I had oil analysis done on Lucas Magnum 15-40 and it was way out of grade. It tested more like a 10-30 oil after only 6,000 miles. I found the Petroleum Quality Institute of America (PQIA) issued a warning for this oil not meeting the specifications stated on the packaging.

Thats why this forum is so valuable.
There is enough propaganda in all of the Oil and Gas commercials to make your head spin.

In the old days, I bought a specific brand of gas becasue you got a set of glasses after 4 fill-ups

I use Ford's Motorcraft semi-syn diesel oil if for no other reason then I will take the truck to Ford for that service along with their filters - I just cannot handle dumping 13 quarts of hot oil (then disposing of the waste) while lying on my back on the driveway. If I was to do it myself, I still would probably use the Motorcraft or, if not available, then the Rotella which I've used in my little diesel tractor for 25 or so years. Whichever you choose are probably all pretty good these day as long as the spec is met. Lucas products - any - mentioned above will never EVER be used in any of my vehicles. It, IMHO, is overpriced, over hyped 'snake oil'
