Road from Tallahassee to Carrabelle is open through Crawfordville and Sopchoppy.

That's good to know; I'll be passing through in a week. I fear we'll lose the "forgotten coast" though.

This is my fear, too. Developers will come in, buy up the land and it will be just another concrete condo beach town.

And apparently it is a concern:

That would be real sad...

I love that area for the hard working people I have met off the coast down there.

Arrived in Carrabelle this afternoon. Only spent about a half hour at the house and found it to be much worse than I thought. Storm Surge took its toll on Highway 98 east of Carrabelle. I was told it looked like a warzone but I was still not prepared for what I saw. Have to stay at Ho Hum for a while until I can get a 20’x30’ shop out of the driveway. I have so many things in the yard that are not ours and so many things of mine that I cannot find. Found many of my power tools 15’ away from where they we’re placed in the garage six feet from the floor. Hot tub and sauna destroyed, Cargo trailer Damaged in three sides, and my new 48” garden tractor appears crushed under the collapsed shed totally off of it’s concrete floor. Weeks of work ahead.
