Appalachian Campsites in Shartlesville, PA is closed for the entire season this year. Their sewer system failed and must be upgraded and they have a soil lead contamination problem somewhere within the campground. I called them this morning and confirmed this. They are waiting for direction from their corporate office regarding any refunds for reservations already paid.

They started to upgrade their sewer system last year when they ran into the contamination problem. They had a big sign up earlier this year that they were accepting reservations for the 2009 season. BUT! They were told the sewer system had to be connected to a main on the other side of I-78 which means tunneling under the Interstate.

Don't know what will happen now.
