I understand and agree with the PC overkill. I found it confusing with comments make fun of the Canadian police when there is such an outpouring of support for US services.

As a retired consultant we were always extremely careful about what we said or wrote about clients in any situation. You never knew who the remarks could get back to and how they would interpret what was said.

I am good with how this is. Although I do not think there was much barge involvement with the RCMP, even in the early days before roads.

I was a security guard at CFB Esquimalt. Please let me know when you're in that area and we could meet up for sure. DW and I are planning to visit with RVing friends over on Whitby Island in WA so maybe the timing will work out well.

Gordon, It's OK the RCMP are still moved in some places in BC by Barge. But then again so are everyone else who want to cross some of our lakes and rivers in remote places.

Yup - am good with it once the workplace humor was understood.

I think it is not that we are thick skinned but that we do not take ourselves overly seriously and have the ability to laugh at ourselves. I know a number of military folks on both side of the border who would be offended by a comment like that regarding their respective service.

I just found it curious a consultant would post such a comment about a client on an open forum. Any client spending substantial amounts on a project deserves respect even though they are only modernizing barges to carry the Red Coats.

Enough said about the topic. I think it is time to get back to the task at hand and that is Thread Killin'.

Ok, it seems like a Possum, a Bear and a Huntski are headed to Oregan Aug. 2017. Stop me if you've heard this one. The Bear says I might drop in, the Possum says come on, Huntski thinks, ha why don't we gaither all the Thread Killers up there! We could plan a surprise attack on this thread during the 1:58 of total darkness due to the solar eclipse!

Speak up men, we might even invite The Girl and Navy too! I smell cookies!

Hell of an idea there Timster. If'n we get the Girl and Navy there too we could entice them to the darkside by threatening to sing them some ballads. What say you one, what say you all.

This seems to be starting out like one of the classic jokes about a doctor, lawyer and engineer out camping. Just need to fill in the punch line.

Never mind just cookies, think rhubarb pie . . . . yummmm!

Gentlemen and the Girl and you to Navy! There is a major injustice occurring on this forum. This thread is only listed as a 4 star thread. Everyone needs to go to the top of the thread and rate this thread so we get a 5 star rating. That will improve our pay checks greatly!
