Glenn

Glenn, on the farm with a fam of 7 and Gramma too, the 2-holer was a necessity, thus often called the "necessary".
And the index pages of catalogues were always the kindest, being thin, easy to crumple, and un-shiney!
So how many Thread Killers had a Necessary at some time in their lives?
I dang near fainted when I saw my first flush toidy!

Carl, if you grab a fern frond on the way in, the spiders under the edge of the hole can be wooshed away.

We had to look for snakes in the corners and rafters. This was at great aunt's house. She also had a basket in the corner that a chicken would nest in. It was hard to take care of business with a chicken eyeing you and clucking...

You poor deprived child!

Not much readin' gettin' done when the temp dropped below 32F! Course the spiders and snakes moved a lot slower then.

Then you had the penthouse two holes. Life on the lower level could be kind of ******.

My Grandfather passed away at 90 years in 1974 and never used throughout indoor plumbing. He use to walk out behind the barn and use the outhouse.
We had indoor plumbing, but he did not want to waste water or turn on the electricity.
He wasn't poor. Must frugal.
Great that he saved his one so now I can use the indoor plumbing.

Ok, here's one...

Here I sit, brokenhearted...
I should've looked before I got started.
I looked to the left, I looked to the right...
Not a roll in sight.

The Sunday funny papers are the best. Because of all the colored ink, the paper is softer.
