I was hauling logs in Northern B.C. and the road we went up passed through a big old Ranch. Every morning there would be at least 10 Moose mostly bulls on the road as there were big hay piles they would eat off of. One morning one of the guy's got tired of waiting for them to get off the road and started blowing his horn. About three of them tuned up his brand new Mack. The hood was busted and when the radiator started steaming they retreated. Lesson learned Don't Honk Your Horn at them!

Lots of serious accidents at night with moose. You don't see them until the last minute due to their dark coats that do not reflect. Then they are tall enough that the hood and bumper take their legs out and having their body at window height. One of my co workers hit a moose with a T-Bird and the moose came through the windshield. She was seriously hurt but the kids were alright because they were sleeping on the seats.

Moose are really good to view at a distance.

Yep a good distance. I have had many close calls with them but never hit one. Just lucky! A fellow I knew real well was killed along with his buddy when they hit a moose with their pickup. Ironically they were headed up further north to go moose hunting.

Plenty of sunshine and low 50's here. Enough wind to dry things out. It's a great day to get some outside work done...
