You know I used to make venison jumpy. But then I practiced my aiming.

So your saying you aim to make them jump for jerky?

I got three deer in one shot once. I got them with a Kenworth back in my log truck days! I think the wolves coyotes and other scroungers enjoyed the feast.

My oldest son has you beat. Driving to his brothers football game with girlfriend and mom riding with him he hit five! He got stopped and stepped out of his truck followed by his mom. He ask mom (Mary) where you going? Her reply, well arn't you going to load them up?

Amazingly all five were able to hobble off into the woods and damage to truck was much less than expected. Girlfriend I think was in shock, she wasn't from a hunting family.

They were lucky!! That could get dangerous. The ones I hit were in pieces as I was doing about 60 mph when I hit them. There were more of them but I just got the three. I hate it when I hit an animal.

I once drove for a small package company. I pedaled freight into small towns in south Arkansas in the wee hours of the morning that was to be delivered the next day. Needles to say most of these roads were empty except for me and the armadillos. I took it as my duty to eradicate those critters with my truck. Hit a lot of em but they still thrive!

We are supposed to be killing this thread, not deer, not armadillos, not anything else but this thread. Do we have to chastise you for being off topic??

Man, seems like these killers are a little sensitive these days.

Jump on in Allen and shoot the breeze, but let me warn you. Some of these killers have breezes that will literally GAS you!

It sounds like too much deer camp food might cause this!

Yup, deer meat's like vegetables. You eat what you can and can what you can't. Or is it....ya eat what you can, and what you can't you can...

Don't knock the deer camp food! I eat better at camp than at home most of the time. Steaks, porkchops, stews, hodge podge and each with ample side dishes. It's tough keeping the deer hunting athletes in shape!

Never have "canned" any meat, just bag and freeze. We're lucky if we can make it last from season till season. I do make up a lot of jerky, a favorite with all of my group, so it goes fast!

All of my sons and families were in this past Sunday so we had Christmas early. Next weekend we celebrate with my siblings then Christmas Eve we celebrate with Mary's family. By New Years I should be pushing 400 pounds!
