I personally use an old coffee mug that I let cool to a touchable warm temp before stowing it in the fridge to cook with for about a week.

Grits deserve individual mention, though I suppose you automatically included them under "other tasty viddles".

They're a mandatory side-dish to a proper Sunday morning after-church breakfast .

Had grits once when I was in the army. They were probably not prepared properly as it was like eating cream of sand.

6000. We have this thing that engines have only so many revolutions in them and we don't want to use them up prematurely.

Went to a Waffle House one time and ordered waffles and hash browns. Took forever and they tried to serve me grits. Didn't happen.

Grits have to be cooked just right, boild the right amount of time. Even when you go to Waffle house, they will vary.
Man! Waffle House, somebody had to mention that. Now i have travel fever, i've been to the keys about 40-50 times, (key west) and i know we have stopped at Waffle House at least 2 ntimes every time we go. I can taste that steak and eggs now.
