Working at the local Goodwill doesn't count.

I knew a guy who worked in Japan. The electronics he would bring back would blow you away because we haven't even heard of the technology been used there let alone seen here.
Because of my job, I stay fairly close to what's current here. And even that, as they say, is obsolete.

Outdated maybe... but obsolete, really? When it just came out here.

All technology is out of date before it even hits the store shelves. They already have the next version on the drawing board.

Sorry for going "Off-Topic", but bad Dunner! He didn't know Sadie followed him into a spare bedroom and he shut the door with her still in there.... for over an hour when he went to get supplies. Good Sadie didn't have an "accident". She got a treat... BACON!

More than that.. they are already testing and developing software for the next model before the current one hits the shelves.. Just look at the iPad and the peeps who bought the iPad3

Hey, I resemble that remark. I bought the first and gave it to my DH (g'kids use it more) when the 3 came out, skipped the two altogether and will wait until version ten comes out before I upgrade again.

I've often wondered which comes first the software or the hardware. Do the SW people require the HW to be upgraded or do the HW people require the SW to be upgraded.
