There are three storms converging on this area (pacific north wet) in the next week and traveling may be a bit dicy and icy. Travel safe.

The weather is a little dicey in places alright. I see on another thread they have freezing temps in Quartzite and the grapevine is closed for snow. A couple days and hopefully it's back to normal.

Where we are about 70 miles north of you we got about an inch of snow. It shut down the hump and the kids almost got a snow day. For a while I thought mayor Douglas was going to go after Premiere Clark to get her to declare a provincial disaster. After about an hour the snow changed to rain and within a couple of hours the snow was gone and all bets were off.

Boy we live in a weird part of the world!

Possum,

I just realized you think we live in"Goldstream" just outside Victoria. We are actually in the BC interior in the "Okanagan Valley". That's 413 mies East of you.

Every time it snows a couple flakes in the greater Vancouver area it's a disaster. The news media promotes it like it has never happened before. The new Billion dollar bridge collects ice on the suspension cables and then when it warms it falls on traffic below taking out windshields and causing major damage to cars. They had to close it one day. Another fine engineering job.

Another laugh is the Coquihalla Highway that now has a Tv program of it`s own(Highway through Hell) and they show all these big truck crashes in the snow.
The first ten years it was open trucks used to travel that road every day with no problems other than some had to chain up on the one hill.
Now due to lack of maintenance and a different caliber of drivers, it gets closed every time they get a significant snow fall. Progress!!
