When I went to Laughlin with my cheap to the bone brother, they had $1.99 breakfasts. He would pull the lean meat off the bacon and leave the fat. Isn't the flavor in the fat.

Hate to admit it but, when I was in Haiti back in 1998 we had anything you wanted for breakfast and as much as you could eat. I actually got sick of sausage and Bacon. Same thing for Lobster and Crab legs. We had it every Tuesday night and again on Saturday.
I got over it and love them all now! Too bad they cost a whole lot more now.

Hit Costco on Fridays. Seafood day. Usually a good break on price.

God I wish you hadn't said that. Now I won't be able to sleep tonight. Wait! It's a major brand. But then again, I'm not sure that helps.

Just tonight, I saw a major brand of tool that was: "Made in China" to our specs.
Yeah right, like China never cheats.

Soldier, is that man drunk?
No Drill Sergeant, he just can't walk!!
Carry on soldier!! And he proceeded on his route!!
We all found we were severely wounded the next morning!
But for the context of the real, original question of this thread, I have been known to be a thread killer!!

I processed through Jackson, but did my basic and AIT at Gordon. On a couple of occasions I tried to keep up drinking with some long time NCO professional drinkers. I was young and stupid then. I'm no long young. But then, I no long try to keep up with the professional drinkers either.

When I was in Kauai in the late 80, early 90s, just before the hurricane hit, I order one of those "Pick your own Lobsters". Could hardly eat more than two claws. It was sooooo rich. They must have known this, as it only came with a small cup of smashed `taters and a cup of garlic butter.

Didn't have that problem in the US Army. If you didn't get near the front of the line you were likely to have hot dogs. Now the Air Force, they ate like that and meals in the Coast Guard were very good on most bases. Navy chow was good. And I had to pick the Army. Remember what I said about "young and stupid".

I went through basic at FT. Polk and then Electronic Repair and Calibration at Ft. Gordon. Remember Tobacco Rd? Right across from one of the exits? Spent many of drunk nights in Columbia, SC; lower drinking age. My best tour was on the calibration team in lower S. Korea.

Not my overall favorite, that goes to the Markum Double Jumbo and the Buffalo burger from the snakepit. It is a decent fast food burger, just wish Wendy's hadn't gone and buggered up their menu.

Anybody ever tried Buffalo burger? That stuff has a nice strong flavor, and I don't mean gamey(sp). Safeway use to carry 1# packs, but I haven't seen it since last(is there one in AZ) grilling season.
