Most of the time Lake Erie is pretty nice. Right now the red algae thing is said to be a concern. Have not been up there this season to see for myself.

For all you dry Texas folks, a visit to the Great Lakes might be fun. Take a ferry out to Put-In Bay for a day visit, take bikes along. If people would take their time to meander along the highways around the Great Lakes, they would be rewarded with incredible photo opportunities.

I'm glad you clarified that butter... lol... I have always wanted to see the G Ls. But half dead carp didn't sound too inviting. 😯

Today it is difficult to see the dead carp because the water is a bit "clouded" with algae. Good news is that algae is loaded with nutrients. Come on up and drink for free.

That's a sign of poor health - and in some instances rising water temps.... eek.

The red algae is closer to Detroit. Lake Erie has two flavors.

Ah, I bet the other one has kale in it. Could be the basis for a new recipe.

I think some portion of that third may have been replaced by that green stuff. Either way - fish have a hard time filtering that green. I could be wrong. 😃
