Ok, since the subject of bears has come up, I feel I should pass on some advice (before this thread dies) that my Dad gave me a looooong time ago. I haven’t had a chance to put it in to practice, but I have no doubt that it will work…

Do any of you know how to catch a polar bear???

I didn't think so.

Here is how you do it. (You people waaay up north, say Ohio or Iowa will want to pay special attention to this… it may come in handy)

Chop a hole in the ice.

Place peas all around the edge of the hole.

When the bear come up to take a pea, kick him in the ice hole!!

How simple is that?

Are we there yet?

My Dad taught me a slightly different method.

First you dig a hole.

Fill it full of ashes.

Then you drop peas around the hole.

When the bear comes to take a pea.....you kick him in the ash-hole.

Voila!

That would be the method for bears south of the polar cap...

I only know one thing about bears. I don't have to run faster than the bear, just faster than you.

Larry the Bear, be careful where you take your peas.

I don't think there is any chance of this thread dying anytime soon.

I live in MI and we let the bear hunters take care of the bears. I think the need to run is moe important then taking aim in this case.

Or in my case, you just invite them over for afternoon tea!

Ah so, wise Mr John.... Many times I have come to the end only to find a new beginning....

Recently, in MH pulling toad, road gets narrow, no more pavement, narrow bridge, cross fast so it doesn't fall in, more narrow dirt road, then pavement and wider road. A new beginning...

I gotta get a new GPS
