AKA Cletus.....
You can dress that possum up in a cute little gray fluffy dog costume if you want, but we know there is a possum in there.

Girl,
As far as the question of Tennessee... it a fine state, mountains, rivers, lakes, no state income tax... snow if you want it, stay down low if you don't.

4x4,

They do the same thing where I work. I just laugh more and let them keep guessing.

Larry, I her car licenses are $24 for every vehicle, is this true? Also heard car insurance was a lot cheaper, like half of what we pay here I MI. What is the gas price right now?

Deb, You chasing the rainbow again or still?

Tennessee Gas Prices - Find Cheap Gas Prices in Tennessee anywhere from $1.85 to $1.97 around Nashville, TN.

Don't know about car licenses, insurance or gas prices... we live in North Georgia (which is also a good place to be). Gas usually runs a few cents cheaper in TN and we're at about $2.00 right now. Car tags are $21 in GA with some surcharge for larger vehicles. Insurance is probably cheaper because we do a little less slippin' and slidin'... although we do a good bit of peepin' and hidin'...

Lynne - are you considering taking a job in Tennessee? Go for it if you think you will like it. If you make the move will it postpone retirement?

Yep! You can only get one bull moose in your lifetime in Idaho. But I can put in for one too and will down the road. In the meantime, we will enjoy moose steaks!

If you are talking to this Deb, the sad answer is NO. We just finished winterizing our TT. I guess you would call us part-timers right now. I have a 91 yr old dad that I keep an eye on. We had a great time in Bryce though and look forward to many more trips.

Hello Thread Killers,

Gordon, Looking for a future residence where we don't have to pay taxes on our 401 money so we keep more of what we earned. Keep hearing things (gas, insurance, vehicle licenses) are cheaper in certain states and I make too much money to leave for another 14 months.

But, when I am done we could buy a cabin in the woods. One BDR, one BTHRM and build a cover for the MH with hook ups when we are there. Rent it out when we are not. It's just another thought in our planning process. Just don't want to be in MI anymore and keep as much of our money as possible.

Deb, must be great still having your Dad. Mine has been gone over 30 years and I still want to call him. I miss him and Mom both. Enjoy your Dad and please give him a hug for me.

Rained today and the wind was a blowing seriously hard. The only things good about winter is when it is over. Hurry up Spring, Deb and I need to get our rigs out of winterization mode and back on the road again.

Have a great day all, LOLT The Girl (Lynne) Hey Navy!

Lynn I bet if you google "Best place to retire" you'll find comparison charts with pros and cons on the top states and areas. I know we have large retirement communities here in AR that are full of ..ahem..northern accents but not sur how the taxes, etc. compare to other states. For us this is home, or at least home base as we are little by little expanding our travel time. We were just discussing this afternoon that we were gone a little over 4 1/2 months this year. Tenn. is nice, AL is hot and GA has too many bears!

I hear the only way to differentiate the different accents is to listen carefully on the way the "Y" in Y'all is pronunced as compared to pronounced.
