Atwood Fridge not working

I just got home from camping for the week in our 2013 (purchased new 4 years ago) Keystone 31BHPR.. Got Home and tried to turn on the fridge on our Atwood HE 0601 and the Check light activates along with a beeping gas light every two seconds. According to the manual it says to check the gas connection and it looks fine. I also ran the rear burner and the inside kitchen burner and they both work as well. Any ideas on how to fix this? It sounds to me that the fridge for some reason is not registering that the propane is hooked up. Thanks in advance.

from WA State.

I've never had anything but Dometic refers over the last 17 years so I can't help much, if at all.

Atwood Helium Fridge.

Gas valve assembly
Has shutoff valve, solenoid and orifice
Cycle shut off valve ....closed/open couple times
Test solenoid resistance...S/B 40 ohms +/- (make sure terminals/spades are clean/tight)
Remove orifice and soak in alcohol then blow dry (very low air pressure)

And Atwood HE is an 'orphan'.....Dometic acquired Atwood back in 2014. Stopped production of Atwood Helium Fridges and parts. What's out there is it and harder to find.

Good Luck!

Ok...i did most of that. Do I take the orifice out by the little gold washer underneath the black thing? Everything looked pretty clean so far. Click image for larger version

Ok, got It working! Here's what I did.at first I wasn't able to get the brown wire off the orifice (the black thing with the spade type blue and brown wires.. I got that off, made sure both ends weren't corroded. Then, I reattached them. Next, I turned the fridge on and cut the main power. Prior to this I cut the main fuse whee the fridge was off.. something reset because out works on auto, a.c. and gas now. So it was either that brown wire needed tinkering or I had to cut power even the fridge was on... thanks so much for your help!

Hi Nate! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

Sorry I can't help with the fridge! Keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

I'm not familiar with a helium refrigerator but i'd suspect it as being similar to other absorption frig models. Yada yada

Edited: Ooops, nevermind my late reply. Glad to see you got it working.

Glad you got it to function.

Just FYI....
Soap bubbles....that is the propane supply line connection to gas valve
Black thing...That is the gas valve Solenoid. When energized it opens gas valve allowing gas to flow. Snaps closed when DC Voltage is removed.
I see it ohmed out good ......44 ohms

Gas orifice....
You need to remove sheet metal shield around burner area,.
Orifice is in end of gas valve......see brass nozzle on gas valve (far rightside) in the my picture!

It 'meters' amount of gas flow when 'solenoid' opens gas valve

Fuses behind black cap......suspect you mean control module/circuit board

3A.....DC controls
3A.....AC electric element

No DC..no electric OR propane
NO AC....no electric....propane can still work
