Auto fire extinguisher

I found this on Amazon today and I’m giving thought to see if it was something that I should install in my electrical compartment. Has anyone purchased one of these and installed it?

My electrical stuff is under the wardrobe. I think for the price and that it is fire activated, I may purchase 2 of these for that cabinet. There are a couple similar products with videos comparing them. The others I saw were fire balls but work the same way I am guessing.

Electrical fire - maybe no. An electrical fire needs the power turned off to stop the fire. Unless the fuel for the fire is totally removed or consumed. Usually very hot wires keep burning the insulation along the wire.

But for other applications, maybe a good solution. There is a product that is a tube packed with chemical to extinguish a fire. May be similar in function to this product.

I do encourage you to investigate and consider these products. Removing fuel from electrical compartment helps considerably (fire proof materials and limited oxygen). Keep on shoveling.

I had a Proteng installed in the frig area and installed a Ball type in the electrical area under the wardrobe closet. Figure even if the wire insulation keeps burning after initial extinguishing (and hopefully breaker flipping), we would be alerted and perhaps give us a little more time to evacuate. Hope they never go off, relatively cheap insurance.
