I'm a disabled Vet too, this is a free country. Every person in this country has the right to handle that situation as they choose. There was no threat of physical harm. I don't go around peeking my nose over peoples fences, look thru their windows, or otherwise decide it's up to me as to decide who is, or isn't behaving to my standards. Should you desire to live in a country where the Govt insists that everyone snitch on their neighbors go ahead, but count me out. Least ways that's my opinion, I've earned the right to spout it, as have you.
Oh ya, Welcome back, and thanks for your service and sacrifice.

Neighbor rustle your prized heifer? Don't get even, get ahead. Pour a bottle red dye in his diesel tank at the next cattle auction.

I accidentally filled with off-road diesel once. I went inside and told the teller, who merely added on the proper taxes and gave me a separate receipt in case I was confronted with the issue. The $10,000 fine would ruin an entire year of camping.
As to the doesn't affect me" attitude; John Dillinger used that to his advantage(only robbed banks) so ordinary folks would hide and feed him. It was their money he was stealing and they didn't realize it. Shoplifting adds about 30% to the cost of most items sold today, either through direct theft or money spent on preventative measures, legal team, etc.
