Awning problem

It seems the latch to roll up/down our awning is stripped out. Can the latch be replaced or does the whole awning have to be replaced?

Before you give up on it, are you sure it's working properly? Have you had it apart to clean it and lube?

@ahicks the latch seems to be sticking. I tried rolling it down last week and it turned but seemed to never "catch". I ended up breaking the strap to pull the awning out. I know that's no big deal to change out though. I am concerned the latch has seen its last days and will have to be replaced.

Will make sure it's working. But back to original question can it be changed out or will the whole roller assembly be changed?

Yes you can change just the torsion assembly on most awnings I would strongly recommend not doin this by your self unless you are trained the tension on these things is very hi and one slip and you have broken your hand very easily plus you need to retention them. Which is another story
