Awning Replacement Fabric...Brand Specific?

Is awning replacement fabric specific to the brand of awning? I have a Faulkner awning and an RV service center is telling me they can't replace the fabric since Faulkner is no longer in business.

Probably true, but a good awning (boat or building) maker should be able to custom make one out of any fabric.

I've been haunting the iRV2 forum looking for pathway to get my slideout awning repaired or replaced and "007", (one of the 'go to' guys) suggested taking a look at RV Motorhome Answers. Went there and found it to be VERY HELPFUL. I don't know how to insert a proper "link" but if ya go to the following site, ya might find it helpfull as well.

I took mine to a "tarp" shop and they ordered fabric and custom made me mine cheaper and of higher quality material then oem.
They stitched or embroidered if you will my camper logo on it even!

Your shop is just being lazy - there are plenty of sources for replacement material. The only thing that might be brand specific is the means of attaching the material to the roller tube and the slot on the side of the coach and nearly all brands use the same method, basically just a thickened fabric bead in a slot. ZipDee is the only odd ball that I know of.

Mark's RV has fabrics they claim will fit a Faulkner.
