Cool B-I-G RV rallies

Forest River has national rallies with 700 units attending and Winnebago has rallies with 1,400 units. IRV2's rally is limited to 125. Are there any really big rallies that are open to all makes of RV's?

I don't believe FMCA is open to all kinds of RVs but just motorhomes. I could be wrong...it's happened.

a Type/Class A, B or C motorhome, or a bus conversion, that contains all of the conveniences of home (including cooking, sleeping and permanent sanitary facilities).
FMCA has been allowing non motorized RV's at their rallies for a last couple years.
Non-members can go to at least some of their rallies but they do charge $50 extra.

Here's a quote from the Perry 2016 rally:
Quote:
Friends who own a towable can stay on grounds by registering the following ways — online at www.fmca.com; mail the registration form located in the Family Motor Coaching magazine; fax the form to (800) 543-4717; phone (800) 543-3622 or email the form to convention.registration@fmca.com. They will register as a non-member.

Here's a quote from the Perry 2016 rally:

Shouldn't the FMCA have to change their name now?

Their rally is 3/17/16 in Georgia. I haven't found any national rallies of any RV clubs west of Iowa.

They, like ever other club/organization out there, are losing members so they're trying to broaden their base and attract more people.

And yes, I've also noticed their lack of national rallies out west! Last one we went to was a NW one at an OR beach casino.

FMCA does not have "national rallies". FMCA has international conventions which are held west, central, and east. There are limiting factors as to where conventions are held. There are red states and blue states, those that allow out of state dealers to sell in their state and those that only allow in state dealers to sell. Some states only have a few dealers which would not give a large selection of display coaches. The number of available hotel rooms is also a consideration as an area large enough to park 600 to 1,000 coaches. Those are just a few items that are considered in when planning an international convention. The conventions are held twice a year, summer and winter. Last summer it was held in Madison,WI, this winter it will be in Perry,GA and the 2016 summer will be held in West Springfield,MA. The previous winter (2015) convention was held in Pomona,CA

Then there are area rallies which are on a smaller scale where 300 to 800 coaches attend. Same thing applies as far as dealers are concerned. Areas have rallies once a year, for instance the last few Northwest Area rallies were held in Coos Bay,OR, Albany,OR and in 2017 it will be held in Kelso,WA.

For a listing of area rallies you can go here for a dates and locations. Area Rallies
