Backsplash change suggestions

I hate the backsplash in my DP kitchen, it is mirrors..... Really makes it look cheap.... I am wanting to change it, but haven't decided what. DH and i are both diy people, and it won't be a large area. Right now am thinking towards a metal like the Broan stainless steel at Lowes.... But not sure if i want ss color.... Another possiblility is the metal subway tiles that glue on, Dont want a stone or something likely to crack..... if any of you have changed yours, i would love to see photos or suggestions....

Lowe's has some vinyl panels that cuts very easy and is tough. I can be applied in several ways. Comes in many different patterns and colors. We did our kitchen backsplash and with a different pattern and color we installed it in the bath behind the sink. I think it's called Fasade or something similar. Cuts with scissors and won't crack and is waterproof. Price is right and the results are pretty good. 18 X 24 inch is $20 I think.

They now have the glass tiles (2"x 3/4") on a prepasted sheet that you can stick to the wall. Just use a flexible grout and you won't have any issues. Here is a DIY photo of the tile I'm talking about.......Install a Tile Backsplash : How-To : DIY Network

Even better .. a totally self-stick, heat resistant, glass tile look-a-like.. no grout what-so-ever.. cut with a utility knife... no need to even remove the 'mirrors' on there now..
