backup camera

I was wondering if anyone had installed a wired backup camera on a Flagstaff 8524rls and if so what type of system they used

My 15 yr old Sony camera quit working. A reman was going to cost $280. I got this setup with 2 cameras shipped from Costco for $220 (was on sale). You could get the 1 camera kit.

Could not get the new 60 ft wiring inside the cap or wall, so I routed it along the outside back wall, then went under, along frame.

I used those black rubber/metal mounting clamps to keep it all in place. Looks pretty good.

I removed to old 'tube' style monitor that had hung from under the front overhead, and mounted the new 7" color one on the dash just left off the instrument cluster. Looks like a factory setup.

It was only $40 more $$ for that extra camera and 60 ft cable, so thats why I got that kit. If camera or cable ever craps out, I can replace in 30 minutes. Plus....I may decide to mount it on the door side for security reasons.

I like the microphone in the camera so spotter can tell me if I'm gonna hit somthing I can't see. I like leaving the camera on while driving.

I mounted a backup camera on a 2010 Rockwood 2604. I mounted it in the hard spare tire cover and ran the wire under the lower moulding to the tongue. The camera displayed on the factory nav system in the truck, I had to have the dealer reflash the nav system to enable the backup function. I used a device called a GM Unlocker this allowed my to use the camera when moving and when the turn signals were used it switched to rear camera. I installed another camera above the license plate on the truck. Both camera video ran to an A/B switch under the dash of the truck. The camera on the truck made hooking up the trailer a snap.
