I have a travel trailer having trouble with the battery,I don't dry camp so how important is the battery ,thanks

Does your trailer have a refrigerator? A thermostat that controls the furnace and air conditioning? water heater? water pump? All of those items require 12v to operate. Your converter/charger requires a battery connected to it so it can properly operate and provide 12v power to the trailer.

If your not dry camping then just go with a lower cost marine/rv battery. No need for a high capacity one.

It's still important to have one, if for no other reason that those periods when the trailer is not plugged to anything. The trailer brakes, for example, run off the battery if it comes loose from the tow vehicle.

What is NOT important for your situation is to have a large capacity (amp-hour) battery or a higher quality deep cycle type. You can use most anything since it is mostly just a brief back-up power source.
