FWIW the 6 V battery deal is that the common size golf cart 6 V battery is often cheaper than the same size 12 V battery. The reason is the economy of scale producing that particular size.
Assuming you have more than one battery you can get more capacity for your dollar with 2 of those big 6 V instead of 2 same size 12 V batteries. The problem is that one has to have room for that size battery. A lot of folks in DP's are advising folks in small A's or C's with frame rail mounts to put in batteries too tall to fit the space.
