Hello everybody...I know we all think safety while driving our motorhomes/campers...but I just viewed this video and wanted to pass it on. It is one of the most "touching" seat belt advocacy commercials I have ever seen. If you have family or friends who don't buckle-up...then send them this link.

My problem with any seat belt laws has always been this... If you are required to wear seat belts in your car, why aren't school buses required to have seat belts??? I'm not saying anything against seat belts. I always wear my seat belt. I believe it is a personal choice. I don't care about the "it would cost too much money to retrofit" line because it's not true. If it was required for school buses then they would have to find the money. And, considering how long it has been law, if every NEW bus that was bought after the law went into effect had been ordered with seat belts, then all school buses would have seat belts... not just the Head Start school buses. It's just always bothered me.

I agree on the school bus issue but that doesn't negate the fact that seatbelts save lives. As a firefighter I have see too many lives cut short due to car accidents. Now if they want to mandate seatbelt use it should be mandatory period. No exceptions for schoolbuses. Our most precious cargo on the road with the most minimum protection. I watched a special training video on schoolbus crashes and that video stated that schoolbuses were the most unsafe production vehicles on the road. What does that say about us?!
