Best Insurance ????

We will be purchasing a class C on a Sprinter chassis. I am trying to get an idea of insurance costs. Any input on this subject greatly appreciated!

Is cost your only concern? If so you might be pleased or shocked at the premiums, which reflect your driving records, value of the RV, your claims history with auto & homeowner's policies, your zip code or census tract (not joking), FICO score (not joking), the, type of coverage (market value or full replacement), and the locale you claim as your domicile.

Nobody expects to make a claim but from reading posts here over the last 5 months, more new RV drivers/owners make claims than one might imagine - there's a thread about those OH DAMN moments where even a minor scrape in the campground turns into $$$ repairs to the coach or a roadside breakdown requires towing. Claims service should be a consideration.

I'd suggest a search of this site to see what recent experiences have been with various insurers.

Good luck to you and safe travels always.

Great advice from Solo. There is almost zero value in trying to compare prices others pay, even if you and they specify the exact same vehicle and coverages. Far too many personal variables for a comparison to be meaningful.

Most insurers are reliable in their payouts, but people rarely understand what their policy covers until after they make a claim, so there are often shocks. The time to learn about insurance terms, coverages and the options available is before you go shopping. Determine what coverages and amounts you need and then get quotes form several insurers. You will likely be shocked at how much they vary, but the lowest one that meets your requirements is near always the best choice for YOU. The same insurer may have terrible rates for somebody else, though.
