I need to find a reliable internet service to use while on the road. My dh works from home and we can camp more often if he can work from the 5th wheel.

I've read about Verizon aircards but it is my understand that they can be slow and only reliable about 1/2 of the time. I am also unclear about whether being on the computer would eat into my monthly plan minutes.

So now I am looking at a satelite based internet. I know they are more expensive but I need something I can count on. Everytime I call a company about it (hughes.net)(campingworld)(directtv) they refer me to someone else. HELP. Does anyone have a number of the company they actually used to install a satelite ?? Is there a company out there that offers satelite tv AND internet ??

Actually, all forms of mobile access are unrelaible to a degree. Satellites are affected by weather and trees over your site. Cellular systems are affected by distance from the tower and the terrain between you and the tower. An aircard works well wherever there is cellular service, but that's not everywhere. An aircard has its own phone number and data plan and does not use any minutes from our phone's voice plan.

Yes, you can get internet and tv on the same dish. You get referred to somebody else because you have to arrange for the equipment from an authorized retail provider who will sell and install the necessary equipment. Here's one such: Ron's Satellite Internet
