Best resource for comparing MH's

I have been bouncing around here for a little while trying to find a thread that could recommend some resources for comparing DP/GAS MH's in the used market. Our budget does not allow us a new one (although drooling has occurred, lol).
We currently have a 2004 Itasca Class C and would like to move up to an A. We have found several units that have caught our eye but information is very scattered around the net. Looking for some sort of publication as a starting point on the pro's and con's of various units/brands.
Retired so trying,like all, to get to most bang for the buck..now and 3-4 years from now.
I'm sure this is an age old request but I can't seem to find anything that jumps out at me. Any help in directing or pointing in the right direction is appreciated.
In the mean time I will keep searching on the site.

There is ton's of info on gas vs diesel right here. Once you've made that decision and figure out a floor plan that suits you, you might want to post an informational request on the specific coach you're interested in.

RV Consumer Group purports to do that, but they are not RV tech professionals, nor do they actually test RVs. They make comparisons based on specs and their opinion of what is important, but you should not assume they are anything like Consumer Reports evaluations in terms of engineering skills or unbiased assessment.

We owned a Class C, had it for ~11 years and enjoyed it but we decided we wanted to move up and knew we couldn't afford new. Every chance we got we would stop at RV Dealers and walked through whatever they had in stock. It didn't take long to learn what we liked, didn't like and what we wanted in terms of amenities. We definitely wanted a Class A and I zeroed in on Diesel Pushers for the power knowing we wanted to eventually tow a car. Also, after driving a Class C for +8 years I did not want to have to listen to the engine located under my feet.

I also started looking at various websites to get an idea of pricing for various models and years. Ebay has a good search engine to narrow down what you are looking for and in most cases realistic prices. Other sites, such as RV Trader, are also useful.

We looked for over 2 years, taking our time and just by chance on a trip to Florida in 2008 I found a 2002 Windsor for sale that looked like it had everything we wanted at an almost unrealistic price. We decided to drive out of our way and take a look. The rig was very nice and appeared to be kept up. I inspected every aspect of the coach, it looked great and couldn't see any problems. All appliances worked. We drove home and thought about it for several days and called the dealer and made an offer that was accepted. Flew back down to Florida the next week and picked it up and drove it home.

The next week I scheduled a full service at the nearest Cummins shop, I knew the manager. After everything was said and done he said the rig was in excellent condition, I guess I got lucky.

My advice is to spend some time just looking, figure out what you want to narrow the search and start zeroing in on the perfect rig.
