Angry Beware First Choice Marine!

Needing a new springlift for the bed, and it being an Atwood product, I tried to order from Atwood, and they don't sell to he public, & referred me to First Choice Marine in Gain Valley Mo. After they took my money, they sent me a e-mail stating it was a special order, and would take 7-21 days to ship. OK, guess I gotta live with it! Waited 21+days, called and was informed it was 21 business days. Waited 21+ business days, called again, and of course it wasn't their fault, it was Atwoods, but they had a big shipment coming in this week, and my order would go out immediately after it came. Waited 28+business days and tried to call 4 times today, and always was told I was #1 in cue, and the after 10 or so minutes on hold, got a recording to leave my # and they would call me back. No Joy! Sent them an e-mail telling them if I didn't hear something by the time I finished composing it, I would file a complaint with PayPal. I did so. I don't know whether they heard from PayPal or got my email, but they responded within about 15 minutes, gave me the same old routine about not their problem, Atwoods. Told them I was tired of hearing that etc. Before the conversation was over, they had cancelled the order and refunded my money. Since then, I've run into all kinds of complaints online about them. Looks like the old stall, or never shipping is a common thing.
I guess all I lost was a couple of months of time - sure glad I didn't need to get under the bed!

Your experience is why I almost always buy from Amazon or other large on line retailers.

Amazon takes care of business and follows up with their vendors if there is an issue.

I have gone to the dark side also. Amazon Prime. Almost everything ships free for the membership per month. And now I don't think twice about small cheap parts or toys or ? that would cost more in shipping than the order itself. I still do shop locally if I need something now, but if you count gas money, 50˘ a mile IRS rate, one or two day shipping is great. Plus most of the time the items are cheaper and better selection.
