Big Stinky Problem

Please help ASAP.

I would post in the vintage section but for whatever reason, my work computer will no longer allow me to access only that section. It's very strange.

I have a 1989 class c coachmen in need to a sewer hose replacement. Of course like everything else it could not go as smoothly as YouTube makes it look. Whoever owned the RV before me, installed a storage system along with where the hose attaches. Seemed like a good idea until you need to replace the hose. Now I cannot get that storage system off and the hose attachment does not fit through it, which is actually kind of funny, who would install a storage system when the hose attachments don't even fit through it.

I was able to finagle the original attachment off but that did not solve the problem because I need room to finagle the hose back on to any attachment.
What do I do now?

Am I missing a tool that would make this job much easier? Here are some pics.

Thank you for all the assistance you guys continue to give a newbie like me.

Looking at your pics. It looks like If you involved both gate valves, you could rotate that "Y" to level. It has a bayonet nubs already. Just need or move the outlet hole in the floor and seal the other.
Looking at the photo of underneath, there is a round spot where the opening was before. That's what I would try.

Interesting setup. What exactly is leaking? Is it the elbow coming out the bottom?

Explain this to me again please. I am new to all of this...how would I rotate the y valve?

Each gate has 4 screws holding the "Y"in the center. It looks like you can undo the screws and rotate the Y flat with the opening facing you. Just make sure your tanks are empty and maybe run that side up on some boards to tilt the unit away from you. Looking underneath you can see a round spot where I think the opening was/should be.

So, you were right, I was able to rotate the Y and was able to easily attach the new hose and drain however, now I noticed the grey tank is not draining. I can feel that the valve is releasing but nothing comes out. There should be stuff in there. So any reason why a grey tank would not drain?

How much is in there? Could be several reasons. Amount, angle, maybe lingering junk from when they drilled the holes in the tank for the fittings. Happened on mine. Took the gate off and used a fish to remove.

Well, I am wondering if maybe there just wasn't enough to produce obvious flow? When I turned on the shower and let the water drain it did just fine. Seems weird though because I hadn't dumped for a week. When I moved the Y a small drip leak started right at the valve, now I have to figure out how to stop that leak. I can tell the black tank valve has been replaced. May have to replace the grey side.

I believe they use an o ring to seal the pieces together and maybe a piece of something got in the gate channel to cause the drip.

Socket Help

I ordered a new 1 1/2 inch grey water valve and I am hoping it will be an easy switch with new seals included that should solve the leak issue. The bolts are rusty and old and hard to get to. Is there a good socket wrench that is good for those tight spots?

How about ratchet wrenches. Work like a ratchet but are thin like a wrench.
