Bike carrier for 2" trailer hitch

I have been looking for a sturdy 2-bike carrier that is made for a 2" trailer hitch. Most that I found used 1 1/4" receiver tubes with an adapter for 2" receivers. All that I looked at on campgrounds like that were too shaky. Most of the ones made for 2" receivers were very expensive. Finally I found one here New 2 Bike Carrier Car/Truck Trailer Hitch Rack Bicycle Rear SUV Durable Racks | eBay. When I saw the price, $49.95 with free shipping, I figured that it would be very flimsy and cheaply made. I decided to take a chance on this one since it had a
14-day money-back satisfaction guarantee, including free return shipping, so I had nothing to lose. When it came in, I was shocked! It is really well-made and sturdy. The only negative thing about it was that one of the bolt holes securing the cross frame to the main receiver tube was punched wrong so that with the bolt inserted, the cross frame was not square with the receiver tube. This was not a problem for me, since I had all of the joints spot welded so no one could just remove the bolts and steal the bikes. I used some round rubber pipe insulation from Lowes over the vertical supports and secured them with black cable ties to prevent scratching the bikes. In a thread under "5th Wheels" you will see a trailer hitch I had fabricated and installed on my 5er. Below are pics of the bike rack.

Can't go wrong for $50.00.
We use a Swagman XTC2 http://i41.tinypic.com/1j009h.jpg
It has a 1 1/4" tube with a 2" adapter but is rock solid, does not move around. I like it better than another one I have that is 2" all the way. Only regret is I probably should have bought the XTC4 for when we have some of the grand kids.

JMINYARD, looks like you found a good solution by taking a chance. Looks very sturdy.

TVMAN44, I too have the Swagman XTC2. Two mods were necessary, one is to drill a 1/4" hole through the outer end of the square tubes where the carriers slide on, and place a long bolt with a nyloc nut on the end to keep them from sliding off. Lost one before I saw this fix out here on cyber land somewhere. The second fix is to Locktite all of the bolts that are set with an Allen. This will absolutely stop any rocking motion now and in the future.
