Bike Rack on Class C

Thanks to knowledgeable people here I am able to tranport my bike and the wife's trike when we leave for Florida on Friday.

My first concern was getting a front receiver hitch so I could launch a boat and keep my rear wheels dry and maybe use it for my spare but I have the spare on the back receiver and have a ball to tow the boat (that I have not bought yet but hope to find a Gheenoe while in Florida the next 3 months).

So I followed everyones advice and got the front receiver installed and then I bought the recommended 4 place rack by Allen for a 2" receiver and the Allen cross bar adaptor. Voila! I am ready to go.

Here is the trike in question:

My front receiver hitch:

Spare tire mounted in the rear receiver:

and the two bikes-my conventional and my wife's trike:

and the Allen 2" receiver rack that does not wobble:

The help on this forum made it all possible

Thanks again

Looks Good

I did about the same thing when I had a Class C. I was fortunate to have some clout and was able to take my rig into the maintenance shop at work and the foreman welded on a heavy rectangular tube between the main rails of the chassis. I also had my make me a super heavy duty carrier.

We needed the rack for my wife to carry her dog X-Pens, which weight a lot more then your bike. It also doubled for a bike when necessary and I could put a hitch in the front to launch my boat. Worked Great.

Sold the Class C and bought a Class A. I took the heavy duty carrier and modified it so I can carry a fully mounted spare tire and X-Pens. I built a hitch one the back of my coach so that I can use the carrier and still pull my Jeep.

RV'ers can be creative when needed.
