A familiar topic I'm sure to most of us but I have a question.

Our Simba is a 2009 with full body paint so feeling ambitious the other day, I washed and then waxed the entire coach, twice, top to bottom using 2 cans of Meguires Caruba paste wax.

Total job took almost two days and many polishing cloths.

I cheated a little with the roof by using a floor type of mop for the washing but just like in the movies.................Wax on Wax off!

She looked just beautiful!

Then, it rained.............naturally! As things started to get dry...............Black Streaks!

The streaks just wipe right off but I am very curious as to what the black crud is.

The bulk of the black crud seems to be at the bottom of the awning arms, the reefer and water heater doors.

And I cleaned those too!

I am really curious as to why the streaks only seem to show up on the coach but not the other cars that are sitting in the same driveway.

Black streaks are simply air pollution. It settles on your roof and washes down the sides, leaving black streaks of tiny particles of whatever happens to be in the air. Ever wonder what happens to all that rubber from wearing-away tire tread?
As to why only on the coach, it has a much larger flat surface to collect dirt/dust/whatever is airborne. Your cars have the same thing, reduced in size of course, but it is there.

Thanks Ray!

I figured that it had to be something like that.

So much for the fresh clean air out here in the country!

At least we no longer hear of the acid-rain problem. Don't know whether it is eliminated or just old news.
