Black Tank
I read on this forum about a way to clean the black tank. I first dumped the black tank. Then I added 2 cups of water softner, 1 cup laundry soap, half gal bleach. After I added the bleach, I saw white vapor coming out of the toilet. So I added more water to the black tank.
Has anyone ever had this happen? Thanks, John Sturges

Ahh, I think that should have been a half cup of bleach, not a half gallon!

Careful with bleach...that white vapor can be deadly.
Aside from that, you're probably ok adding some water. Once you've flushed out all that stuff and have the tank clean, put several bags of ice down the toilet and take the RV for a spin for an hour or so. The ice will scour the bottom of the tank, breaking loose some of the caked on gook, and then dump and flush the tank again...works good.

Bleach + ammonia products is a very dangerous mix so watch that aspect.
As for the "geo method" - does he suggest that mixture all in together.

When mixed with bleach, certain chemicals can release chlorine gas which is very deadly. Be very careful with your junior mad man chemistry experiments.

Not only too much bleach, you should be using dishwasher detergent (low sudsing)

Why bother with the Geo Method at all? All that mixing, pouring and expense! A 53 cent treatment of Happy Camper works as well or better and no possibility of creating dangerous gases.
