Black tank 'flies'

We are full timers that keep our black tank closed until 3/4 full. I flush it each time it is emptied. It's been a couple of days now and I'm seeing these small winged flies coming from the commode when we flush. Gray tank valve is left open all the time.

Not using chemicals but using Fabuloso with no odors. I can't understand where they are coming from since we keep the valved closed.

Any suggestions or ideas?

On our Pace, the vent from both tanks join and go to one vent in the roof. Leaving the Grey tank open will allow anything in the campground drain to move up the hose and throughout the vent pipes and into both tanks. I leave the Grey tank drain open but I make a trap with the drain hose to keep the 'stuff' that may be in the pipe in the ground from migrating up the hose. The hose makes a dip that holds water right at the drain. When I drain the black tank I straighten the hose out and then rinse it with water from the black tank flush. Then I set the hose to form a trap again and run some water into the Grey tank and fill the trap with fairly clean water.

I think it's a mistake to hook up your drain pipe when parked. Anytime you leave either the grey or black tank valve open, you are asking for trouble. I know no one likes to keep hooking up and flushing to flex pipe, but those little flies just seem to get into everything.

The larvae can make it through a trap in the sewer hose. You can rinse and clean your tanks, keep valves open, and put a can of fogger in the sewer hose, then cap it to kill infestation. Spraying Raid or it's equal down open toilet will kill, but often eggs hatch and re-infest if the tank isn't clean.

Get a can of Black Flag and as you press the step flush, press the button on the can at the same time. As the waste goes down, so does the spray and no flies come up.
