BlueOx Patriot Repair

So my BlueOx Patriot broke today. The claw came off the ball joint. For the life of me I can't figure out how this would go together or what is missing.

Anyone have any ideas?

If the unit is still under warranty call blue ox. If not call Russel as he repairs them for blue ox (860) 225-7884. He is located in CT.

Does this photo help?
The ball just snaps into the back of the claw.

Have you tried jamming it into the socket ? It has to float so there cannot be any pins to hold it in a fixed place

Looking at mine, I gotta ask the question. How in the heck did this happen? I tried to remove the ball and without some major force, it ain't happening. I can see how the threaded rod could come loose but how did the ball come out?

I have no idea...I used this morning. Then again this afternoon...Put the Patriot in, pressed setup, came back and had an ERROR condition - the next thing I see is the shaft sticking way past the brake. From there I saw the 2 disconnected.

I will go and try and jam back in.

I called Blue Ox - they are sending a repair kit - free, no questions asked.

We shall see. Thanks of the pick guys.

Nope - no go - I even tapped with a light hammer - there is nothing in there to catch. I will wait patiently for my BlueOx care package arrives.

Glad to hear Blueox has responded. Two years ago I had the battery fail on mine while on our way to Alaska. They sent me a new unit to our next stop prepaid at a significantly reduced price and I returned the old one. Good service.

Looking at mine yesterday, I noticed the threaded connection into the rod was loose. I have not been in the habit of checking this but will certainly give it an eyeball from now on.
