Boondockers Welcome vs Harvest Hosts?

Has anyone had experiences with either Boondockers Welcome or Harvest Host?

Looking for some feedback...

I've learned a lot about it reading the posts, especially enough to know we missed out on the $49 a year rate.

Many of the posters have used it and very few or no complaints other than it is like Obamacare that you have to sign up to see where you can stay.

The above link are personal reports. They were posted on this site.

Boondockers welcome are usually private parties with some land to park.

Harvest Hosts is parking amidst wineries or farms, mostly.

Both are good..... just depends on your preference and if the spot is near where you want to stay. Use both of them.

We are members of harvest host. This last year we stayed with about 6 or 8 different hosts including wineries, brewery, museums and farms. So for us it was will worth the fee.

We did as their policy requests and patronized each one. We aren’t big drinkers so the wine and beer ended up becoming gifts for others. Other places we got things that we needed anyway like veggies, meat, and other food.

We enjoyed our experiences with harvest hosts. And at one stay the proprietor gave us a routing tip that was super helpful.

There are areas where there are lots of hosts and other areas where there are few or none. But it’s nice to have the option when it’s there.

We use it when traveling since stays are only one day unless the hosts invite you to stay longer.

We will be renewing with harvest host for 2019.
