Bug screens keep breaking

Has anyone found a bug screen for the 2 round hole heater exhaust vent that would be a permanent installation? I have tried 2 of those bug screens that are held on with a spring and they last about a year then fall off while driving.

Clean the exhaust very well and then glue in a new one with something like 3m 5200 or 3m4200 FAST CURE

I haven't done this yet but I also haven't lost a screen yet....I plan on getting some stainless steel wire and twisting it tight. It will be heat resistant and shouldn't corrode.

I use bare copper wire (and works great. Easy to get at any hardware store, but I had some scrap in my garage.

On second thought DO NOT use 5200. Its temp rating is not high enough.

An exhaust rated silicone will work better.

If the exhaust and intake tubes are not too long, maybe install them on the inside after removing the cover?

I tried that but mine is attached with rivets and won't come off.

I made a couple of 'hooks' from a 6/32 screw and a piece of 1/8" aluminum. Drilled and tapped the aluminum.

Push the screw through the screen and tighten against the cross bar in the vent.
Two years and still holding great, even when washing the trailer.

Use aluminum screening and stainless wire to hold it on.
