dp build

ok my frame came from a salvage monaco dp
first pic towing to house on lowboy
pic 2 at home
pic 3 striping to bare frame rails
pic 4 cuting off bays
more to come
at first i wanted to build a bus conversion
and bought a 57 model as i like vintage cars but after starting it i found frame and sidewall ribs broken so stoped that
and bought monaco
more to come

My question would be,,,, in the pics the only damage is on the rear... Why rebuild the whole rv ??? Now I understand "projects" , have built many hotrods,,, just wondered more of the story...

Quite the project. I did have a friend I raced with who was 7' tall and didn't like anything he found so he stripped a Kenworth he had in his fleet of trucks and made a Toterhome for tall people out of it.

more
pic 1 monaco unpainted frame roting away in walls my new wall framing

pic 2 57 bus had alum roof and front and rear caps so build a frame to move to my new walls pic is half way left old wall as a stop if we pushed to hard


pic 3 new walls new bays and frames for windows
pic 4 part pic of castle me and wife rebuild it as it had just sat for 30-40 years

dp build

not a lot of pics at this part of build
next was to install a floor as was walking on planks
used 3/4 marine plywood ripped it in 4
strips then tounge and groved them all
and glued and screwed them all so that all joints were stagered and joints were on frame cross members when done
i had a one piece strong floor all holes were filled and whole floor sanded next skinned outside walls using sikaflex
bonding
