If you have building code restrictions, this idea might help.

I'm not as worried about return on investment as I am protecting my investment already made.
That said a friend just did a "A" frame metal structure 22x50x14 for right around$10k.
I'm putting up a "A" also 24x40x14 with top 8' sheeted on two sides for $11,500. Both are snow and wind rated for our area and include tax and installation.

We put up a hay shed or pole barn. Piers are below frost line. Size is about 44' X 14.5' X 14' high. We have building codes sortof; but the cost for the permit was only about 150.00. We are in Idaho and up in the mountains, so snow protection was main concern. Total cost of building and leveling the hillside was about 8,000.00 and I worked for contractor during construction.

I built for me to have what I wanted. Niece will most likely inherit the house.

I have an active residential real estate license. In the Denver area you most likely would get your money back as these are rare. The best property would be a ranch style home with an RV garage. Everything on one level. You cannot build an RV garage in most H.O.A. communities. RV garage "condos" are listed here from 150k and up and are no where near as nice with an H.O.A. fee. They look like those storage facilities that are all over the place.

On Oct 15 I received a quote of $3,500 + tax for a 30’x12’x12’ metal roof shed (no sides) delivered and installed in upstate NY. I’ve seen canvas build-it-yourself sheds of similar size for $2,500-3,500 on line. I haven’t gotten an estimate of getting electric out to where I’ll park yet.

Our RV garage
We live in the hills of North Georgia, where winter temperatures usually stay near freezing but can dip down to the single digits. When we bought the land for our "forever house" the first step was a 16' wide by 16' tall by 48' long stick built RV garage with the same HardiePlank siding and 35 year roof shingles we planned for the house. It has 2X6 stud walls with R-19 batt insulation and an insulated 12' wide by 14' tall garage door; according to my recording thermometer the interior temperature has never been above mid-80's or below 35 degrees. There is an adjacent gravel pad and I have 50A plugs, water and septic hookups inside and out. Total cost, about $40K plus the expenses for initial utilities and septic system that saved on the house cost.
Why? After seven years we traded our first coach for a good price because the paint was pristine from inside storage. No winterizing; when we get the urge to go somewhere warm, we load up, unplug and go! Never had a problem with rodent infestations. When the residue of Hurricane Michael passed through, I slept well knowing our baby wasn't sitting on a storage lot or under a flimsy metal carport. According to our real estate agent, this garage will be a selling point, not a liability!

[QUOTE=Blondiega1;4451450]Ours is 22 x 52. We built on to our existing 3 car garage.
We were adamant that we did not want it to look like an addition. It must look like it had always been there. I think they nailed it.
We're not concerned about resale value. The house is paid for and we aren't going anywhere. Ours cost considerable more that what's been posted above.
We have water and 50 amp service inside and it's fully heated and cooled.
I think that’s about the best way to do it to match your property

RV Storage
I just use my home workshop, 7700 square feet, 23’6” ceiling height, three phase power, foam insulated walls, and lots of lights. I just have a truck camper nowadays, but I could accommodate any RV.

RV Port
I build a 12' x 30' RV port in 2006 for $2600. I used 4x6 treated posts set in concrete 2' deep. It was built to clear our 1992 Pinnacle (10' 2" to the top of the air conditioner). It has a metal roof and has withstood 50 MPH wind and we had 162" snow one year. When we bought the Breeze I had to raise the rafters 5 1/2" and dug out the gravel about 2" and added 6' to the length. Then to keep the sun off the front (the south end) I had a couple of barn doors built for about $300.

Hey Redhooker. You posted a few years back about the cover you put up for your rig that could have a lean too attached. Did you buy that or build it from scratch? If you bought, where did you buy it? Thank you.
