When we bought our MH it only had the burners and I wanted an oven (other than the convection/microwave). We had Camping World install a Magic Chef and have not been happy with it or Camping World. The first one I whinned until they replaced it because the oven was nearly impossible to light. The second one has now become just as bad if not worse. We have to turn it up to 350, wait for the gas and then light. (We don't leave the pilot burning due to not using it that often.)

The other problem is when I turn the burners off. They will often go out with a 'loud pop' - so loud I will jump. I have visions of the pan being blown across the MH. Camping World says this is normal. They burn blue, not yellow.

I have had RVs for years and never had the burners 'pop' so loud. Nor have I ever had so much trouble lighting an oven.

Any ideas as to how to correct the problem?

Sorry to hear of your trouble with the oven. You may want to have the gas pressure checked first to be sure it is correct. If so the one thing that you can do to reduce the popping when turning off a burner is to reduce the flame to a very small one first, then off. Are you litting a stove top burner first before litting the oven up? If not try this first. When you do not use the rig for awhile the gas lines will leak down and fill with air. You will neeed to purge this air out of the line to get the gas fuel to the burner. Once there it should lite. Hopefully you will find that the gas pressure regulator needs a little adjusting and then following the suggestions will make it better. Good luck and let us know the outcome.

NeilV, what sort of pilotless gas oven do you have in your Vectra?

We live fulltime in our MH so the burners are always being lit. As for trading up, finances will not allow it at this time.

As for the gas pressure regulator, that has been a thought. Camping World was suppose to check all that when I complained about the problems but who knows if they really did.
