Buy without seeing?

Good morning,

I want to sell my RV and Jeep. An ad can be found here in the forum.

Now someone contact me with the following email:

Good to hear back from you, i work with New Zealand Oil and Gas (NZOG) and we are presently offshore in New Zealand Taranaki Basin on kupe project, i am at sea right now so i wont be able to check the 2009 RV Damon and 2006 Jeep Liberty am buying this for my dad as a surprise gift so am willing to offer you the amount you requested, i insisted on PayPal because i don't have access to my bank account online and i don't have internet banking too, but i can pay from my PayPal account as i have my bank a/c attached to it, all i will need is your PayPal email address to make the payment, and if you don't have a PayPal account yet, i will suggest you set one up at www.paypal.com it will not take you more than 3 mins to do that, i will be expecting your PayPal email so that i will make payment, i have a pick-up agent that will come for the pick-up they will also determine and secure the shipment once payment has been sorted, i will also need your full name and phone number.

Regards. Jonathan.

I think it's a trick and not serious. Who buys cars without to see and check it? What experiences have you done?

Thanks. Winni

please excuse our bad english, we are out of practice ...

The scams are usually people over seas but always have a agent who will pick up or arrange for the transfer of funds. Just ignore any future emails, Their slick and people fall for their scams all the time. It will end up costing you money by the time your finished with them, a check is sent [no good] but over the amount needed and you'll be asked the send the extra amount back [got ya] . Good luck with your sale on the site.

We've even had similar scams for smaller items we advertised on Craig's List. The buyer can never come in person, and they want to pay by PayPal, certified check or by sending an agent.

The best advice is to deal only in person.

Always a dead give-a-away to me is not being able to write a coherent message in English, and not knowing proper punctuation.

They are required to return to elementary school and start all over again.

They generally get at least one big headache out of the deal. More often, they lose property. Thus the recommendation to run, not walk.
