Buying Sight Unseen

So far I have been pretty lucky buying RV items over the internet.
We recently decided to replace our unused dinette for dual recliners. Looked great on the web site, good reviews from others, pushed the purchase button. $1450 later we have dual recliners with leg rests that hold in the up position only when fully reclined and material so thin that the dog punched holes in it the first time out (in 20 years of having leather couches and recliners, never had damage from our dogs - except for one dog that ate a couch, but that's another story!).
The backs of the recliner don't line up, the fold down center tray is at a 15 degree up angle, the foot rests swing off to the side, and on and on. Contacted the company and got "Unfortunately we do not have any adjustments in regards to the footrest locking in place when reclined. As for the material, we also do not make seat covers nor having any for these items".
So I guess the moral of the story is physically inspect before you buy. Anyone need an expensive boat anchor?

Sorry to hear of your problem. I often buy site unseen. Ensuring I know the returns policy should there be an issue.

Bummer, sorry to here that. I guess this time " the law of Murphy" finally caught up with you.
Sound like they might not even hold much of a boat!

Keep your words sweet.
You never know when you will have to eat them.

We are about to purchase recliners for our MH. Would you be willing to tell us the website or manufacturer you used? We have been looking at Bradd and Hall recliners.

I'm sorry you have substandard recliners - I would be so upset.

I would sure hope a purchase that was this misrepresented would share the company so others would not experience the same result.

Let's just say I will never purchase from Shop4Seats again.

I bought a "euro-cliner" from Amazon (GREAT return policy ) to replace the recliner that came with the coach. Think it was about $300, delivered.
It's very comfortable, recline is smooth, and locks in place with a knob on the side. The foot rest is separate and came with the unit.

Very pleased with it so far.

Jim

Jim, good to hear you like your recliners. Do you know the brand name? We've looked at many on Amazon, and aside from consumer ratings, don't know what's good quality and comfortable v. expensive junk.
