I had made a lot of upgrades to my 05 Diplomat, from sway bars to engine fans. My dealer new it was well taken care of and sold in less than 2 weeks. The dealer asked me to do the walk thru with the new owners. I was happy to show them how everything worked and upgrades I had made.

They called me a few times during the first few months until they got a handle on everything. I don't mind someone having my info on something I've sold, especially since my stuff is always in good working order.

My coach was bought by LD's from another dealer so they did not have the previous owner info.. Like some of you I found some receipts with the owners name and number so I called and left a nice message that I now owned his old coach and if he had time I had just a couple of quick questions that would help me out greatly. What I got back was and angry message castigating me for calling him and threatening to report me for invasion of privacy! I can just imagine being next to this person in a campground.

I traded a total dog of a 2013 Thor ACE 27.1 with only 4000 miles on it. I did give the dealer a list of repairs that had been done under warranty and the items that were waiting for parts to come to the scum of a dealer I originally bought it from. About a week later I got a call from the trading dealer asking if I would call the first dealer to see if the parts were in, so they didn't have to start over and wait for parts. They also said they had repaired about a dozen more things they had found.
I feel I did my part and was honest about the coach's condition at the time of trade. As far as I am concerned I am out of the loop now; there is no way I would want to be contacted by anyone who bought it.

Singpilot contacted me by PM and I forwarded the info of the owners of THE LOST PAPERS to him.

This thread is over a year old, but my post did get a response from the original poster of the lost papers.

Thanks.

I would have no problem answering any questions regarding the RV i sold or traded. If it was to a private sale they would know how to contact you anyway. I kept complete records including any and all modifications I made to any RV and they went with the RV when it was sold.

I was able to get the dealer to get permission from the PO to contact them when we bought our DP, turned out the PO was not as forthcoming on certain things as he could have been. Now that we have changed gears and went to a 5er, again the dealer got me in contact with the PO and this one was very helpful and forthcoming. I've found, IMO, that sometimes it's just easier to go to the PO if possible rather than waste a bunch of time trying to figure something out on your own. Like when was the last time the wheel bearings were packed, etc.

I had a prospective buyer call me and ask a lot of questions about a car I previously owned. I tried to be helpful and totally candid as to why I traded it off. The man started demanding that I should have fixed this and that before I traded it off. It was stupid. I told him that if I had gone to the expense of fixing all that, I wouldn't have traded it... and hung up. Needless to say, I didn't answer when he called back.

That aside, I still would answer questions candidly to a new owner or prospective buyer. But why do people think one is going to put up with their rudeness and rhetoric?
