Camco Wave heaters and CO PPM

I am getting ready for winter boondocking and picked up a Camco Wave 6 heater.

My trailer is 18x7 and I figured the 6 would be ideal. I had the trailer vented in excess of the instruction manual requirements.

With the Wave on high my Kidde CO detector got up to 36 PPM. I know that won't kill me but I don't like it.

Any other Wave owners with some PPM observations ?

CO is a killer

9PPM is Maximum recommended indoor CO level (ASHRAE)
***American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers
25PPM is MAX TWA Exposure for 8 hour work day (ACGIH)
***Timed-Weighted Average
*** American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists
50PPM is Maximum permissible exposure workplace (OSHA).
*** Occupational Safety and Health Administration
** Proposal to lower to 35PPM being considered

Yours is putting out/getting a reading of 35PPM........not one I would feel comfortable with while sleeping.
Maybe OK prior to bedtime but off while sleeping.
Don't forget to factor in window screen restriction when figuring minimal amount of ventilation

Thank you....that is a good point about the screen. I had not thought about it!

Not much need for screens in the winter. I will pull it out.

I spoke with Camco and I spoke to a non - tech rep and he said that an engineer said that 20 - 60 ppm would be normal. After we hung up I realized I need to talk with the engineer directly....I have a left a message.

I am thinking that I got a bum one. I might end up doing a return on Amazon and get another one.

Oddly enough when I search the Amazon reviews for "ppm" one review out of 320 has that in it. I did the same for the Buddy heaters. Either it isn't a problem for many many people or they don't notice.

With as much money as I have into the heater, hose / regulator, and extra propane tank I could have just added another solar panel and run the stock furnace. Although, it is 20,000btu so it would use a gallon of propane every 4 or 5 hours.

I'd get a vented catalytic heater. No need to heat the outside and put up with moisture buildup.

I have a 3k WAVE, but it wasn't enough heat, so we use a Mr Buddy.

I have a CO alarm, but I don't remember what it reads.

I open two of the roof vents about 1 inch.
