What can anyone tell me about Camp Club USA? Do most of their campgrounds put serious restrictions on its use? Are the campgrounds nice? Thanks for your thoughts.

In my opinion, Passport America is the better deal. I compared their listings, and Passport America has a better selection than Camp Club USA. Camp Club USA is a newer endeavor and is growing.

Many of the same campgrounds are in both plans. Restrictions vary by campground and dates. It's best to check the websites for both PA and CCUSA for the places you're interested in.

If you go to Camp Club USA's website, you can look up each RV park currently in their system and see what the restrictions are.

The same thing is true of Passport America's website.

Just as a side note: Camp Club USA is owned Affinity Group (Good Sam Club, Trailer Life, Motorhome Magazine, Coast to Coast, et.al.). Depending on your point of view, this can be a good thing or a bad thing.

I have both. Last week, we were going to be staying in a campground for 2 nights for $44/night. We saw that they had Camp Club America and stopped by Camping World and bought the one year membership which included a new 2008 Woodalls camping guide all for $39. We paid for it all and got the Woodall's book for free. We ended up staying 4 nights and it made us $44. I have used Passport America about 100 times and love them, but if you are going to be camping a lot in different locations, there is no reason not to have them all. As far as restrictions, that is up to the individual campground and it is going to vary with each one. This isn't related to the discount club. They use them to get additional business on sites that would be otherwise empty. No campground wants to give you a discount when they would be full anyway. Using a discount club when they wouldn't be full is a win win situation for the campground and for us.
